⚠️ Heads up: this output is much larger than your original image. Resizing up cannot add real detail, so the result may look soft. For best quality, start from the largest original you have.

How to resize an image for social media

Crop to fill is the right choice for posts, covers and thumbnails: the platform shows a fixed rectangle, and this mode fills it completely. Use the focal-point sliders when the automatic centre crop would cut off a face or a logo.

  • Upload the largest version of your image you have.
  • Pick the platform size from the guide.
  • Adjust the focal point, check the preview, download.

Fit inside is better for logos, product shots and graphics with text near the edges β€” nothing gets trimmed. Pick a background colour that matches your brand or the post design.

  • Use JPG for photos (smaller files) and PNG for graphics, logos and text.
  • Avoid resizing up: a 400px image stretched to 2560px will look blurry β€” the tool warns you when this happens.
